Well, the unreviewer pointed out that he did what everyone would do: Go to
the download section on wiki.pine64.org and choose the OS images _featured_
there. Longsleep's weren't mentioned until yesterday so only outdated and
questionable images were present lacking even the minimum amount of
documentation (eg. "This is WiP, HDMI is limited to 1080p60 at the moment")

Everything as expected given the current behaviour of the Pine64 folks that
still do not *want* to provide appropriate documentation (listing all the
known design flaws of their board) and raise surreal expectations. But
maybe that's just how KS works and hardware guys can't do it better?

But the board development process makes this idealistic scenario impossible.
Usually engineers do understand it, but when boards sell to just anyone you
will get a lot of negative feedback because many people expect it to "just
work",
or just don't have any clue what to expect.

It's recurrent with any boards. The Raspberry Pi people use censorship
in their forums and just delete blatant rants.

Still, the users initially want just *one* tested and known to work SD
card image, a very simple tutorial and a troubleshooting FAQ. Just to
make sure that the hardware is working as expected. Otherwise they
tend to become nervous.

Having too much poorly structured information and too many SD card
images to try actually does more harm than good.

Sad to see all the complaints, but it is recurrent with Allwinner boards...
