moin,

i know nothing about the specific problem, but have you checked your power
supply?

yes, the power supply should be ok. i have used it for months without
problems. it works ok with lots of other boards (both of the same type and
other models). i tried different voltage levels (the board can accept 6 - 16
Volt) and the power supply is also powerful enough.

[linux-sunxi] Sudden memory failure on an A20-OLinuXino-MICRO

2014-01-14 Thread Axel Theilmann

moin,

i just started using a brand new A20-OLinuXino-MICRO. booted it up and it
worked fine. after a day i power cycled it and now i get memory errors.

the on-board default android image on NAND says:

HELLO! BOOT0 is starting!
boot0 version : 2.0.0
read dram para.
dram driver version: 1.15
initializing SDRAM Fail.

a new compiled u-boot on an sd card says:

U-Boot SPL 2013.10-rc2 (Jan 08 2014 - 19:15:54)
Board: A20-OLinuXino_MICRO
DRAM: ? ? 0 MiB
### ERROR ### Please RESET the board ###

the sd card is fine, i tried it on another identical board.

google says its probably a hardware error. but its strange that this just
shows up from one moment to another when nothing special has happened to the
board.

i let it sit for a a night and then reconnected. same thing...

any ideas what could cause this or should i assume a faulty board?

i had a board of the same model fail a few weeks earlier but with that board
it was that suddenly, ethernet transmission stopped working (receiving was
still fine).
