It is both. A springboard module, MemPlug and a softwere, PiDirectII.
I have found that it doesn't recommend moving any updateable db's to
it, but I am still playing with it. BTW, mem card come in four
flavors. Check out www.memplug.com. HTH.

something that works only with your particular module or does it allow to
install applications on any type of mem module, like the rip-off
Handspring Flash Module where they tell you you cannot run any programs
off it after you buy it?
Talking about PiDirect; is it software or hardware add-on?
