Can't "up" my eth0

2006-07-21 Thread Denny
Hi,

I am now succefully to bring up my kernel on my PPC440GP custom board, but I
failed to up my eth0, the eth0 is link down after the kernel is booting up.

There is no effect, after the command ifconfig eth0 up.

Can anyone tell me what may be the root case, and what reason may cause the
eth0 unstable, thanks a lot.

below is my log:

Hi,

I failed to setup RMII ethernet interface of the UBoot on my custom board --

It always tell me "time out", and the wrong ethernet speed, why?

I defined the MII and RMII macro in my config header, and still does not work.
(Anyway, I success to setup a MII ethernet interface on the PPC405GP,should I
change the RMII interface to MII on the hardware level?)

Can anyone tell me if it is a bug of the ELDK4.0?

2006-06-28 Thread Denny
Hi,

I failed to compile the uboot on my 440GP platform, I set the compile
switch as "-m440 -mcpu=440",

But the interest thing is when I change the switch to "-m405 -mcpu=440",
I can compile my uboot successfully, why?

Also I find all the instructions are existed both in user manual of
PPC_405 and PPC440.
