Tthis does not explain why we can't have a plugin hybid now.  A 40 ah nimh or 
lithium  would give 100 mpg or more.  What do you think, andrew?

Hi Al,

 

I think hybrids are a good transitional technology until the cost of
batteries comes down and the range goes up.

I think all hybrids should be serial hybrids with the combustion engine used
as a range extender only and not used to drive the wheels.

I think all hybrids should have the biggest battery possible with
consideration to price.

To me hybrids are a compromise I would prefer not to make, but it's by far
better than gas only.
