What you are asking for is something referred to as a 'roll up'.
CorasWorks implemented this and sold it for a squillion dollars for the
previous version, but I don't know if MS ended up writing anything into
v3 to cope with it.

I have 5 sites with an announcements list on them.
Is it possible to create a web part which aggregates all these
announcements into a single list?
I suspect I'm going to have to roll my own. Thoughts?
