Log4jextras was extra stuff for Log4j 1. Log4j 1 is not longer supported so neither would be log4jextras. Not sure, you’d have to try. But be aware that Log4j 1.2 has been End of Life for 2 years now and is known to be broken on Java 9. We recommend everyone to upgrade to Log4j2. Log4j2 has better performance and can be configured to be garbage free. Just switching to Log4j2 is likely to speed up your application.
