In the absence of objections, and a few people having said that this
would be a good idea, I've made a provisional booking for Thursday 8
August, upstairs at the Calthorpe Arms on Gray's Inn Road.  The room
will cost 15 quid, which we should easily be able to make up out of
the kitty (people who don't use the kitty for drinks can easily
stick in a few pence to cover their share of the room hire).  Bar food
will be available.  For more details see previous emails.

I told them I'd confirm or cancel on Saturday.

This might be leaving it a little late for pub-booking, so should I
try to provisionally book the Calthorpe Arms today?  (If they'll *let*
me do a provisional booking, and aren't already booked, that is.)
