 of enthusiasts.

Thanks. good to know.

I apprised you that HOSEF was a non-profit entity that
works to organize the community around socially entrepreneurial
 activities.
For instance, next month we are donating a 25 station computer lab to
 Ma`ili
Elementary as part of a collaborative project with the University of
 Hawaii's College of Education.

Great. There's a middle school in San Francisco that has a FSW lab
curriculum, etc. People in HI might want to talk to Christian Einfeldt,
who volunteers there a lot. He also does the Digital Tipping point
video. Google for that. He's also on the SFLUG list often.

You are doing good and noble work by trying so hard to organize so many
people around a worthy stream of informational sessions.

Thank you. :)

Keep in mind
 that
mailing lists are, for some, a dying communication medium. As Vince
mentioned, now that we don't need mailing lists to get X11 or our mice to
work properly, some such as this one get less activity. I probably
communicate more about FOSS through my twitter account.

Thanks for all these notes. :)

I know it's short notice for todays meeting (announcement to follow in
next email). But, I hope you all can join with us.

Best wishes. :)

 Aloha John,

Aloha! - Hey - join us in #berkeleytipglobal on freenode for the next
4 hours.

I live in Hawaii and get mail from two lists claiming LUAU. Can anyone
tell me which is the real list?

I can't. Mail i get from luau contains
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I know I looked around several months ago, when i joined the list,
there were messages about servers lists in transition. Last msg I got
from the list was on829.

I met a guy at the Sunnyvale,CA linux picnic in August right after
LinuxWorld SF who said he'd interested in getting the BerkTIPGlobal
meeting going in HI, he has something to do with, is it HOSEF? But I
havn't heard from him since. - I'm just slowly getting this BerkTIP
thing going havent heard back from hardly anyone yet. I'm hoping he'll
see some of the announcements I'm doin, say hi.

maybe I should look at the hosef.org list you mention see if it is now
more active than this list. I'm too busy to do that now.

Or should we copy both with mail. ( Vince... Scott ... What's up?)

I am on the Berkley and San Diego lists as well.

Which berkeley list are you on? Did you ever live in Berk or SDiego? I
ask, cause I'll shortly be working to try to get the SDiego folks to
have a monthly BerkTIPG meeting at UCSD.

The LUAU list has traditionally been quiet, before and after the move.

I moved the LUAU list from hosef.org to freesoftwarehawaii.org this
summer, but the old list is still live. You can read up on the old
archives around spring of this year to get a little insight, but it is
not something I want to rehash anytime soon.

That said, http://mirrors.hosef.org/ has been rebuilt. Scott did all
the work but I am looking to help out where I can.
