Re: [Lubuntu-admins] [lubuntu-users] Lubuntu Zesty Zapus Alpha 2 has been released!

Since version 49, Firefox needs SSE2 (as Chrome does since ~v35). I assume your CPU doesn't have this extension. Try Midori or Qupzilla.

The last release of Firefox for Lubuntu does not work on my laptop. (The
Firefox application seems to "barf" when it checks for compatible
extensions, ending the application. I've sent the error report to the makers
of Firefox, but so far there has been no fix.) Chromium never did work, so
I'm no longer able to browse the Web using Lubuntu. What do I do now? Is
there someone I can communicate with that can help me with this problem?

Lubuntu Zesty Zapus Alpha 2 (soon to be 17.04) has been released!

We have a couple papercuts listed in the release notes[1], so please take a
look. We also have been having some artwork problems that you should be
aware
of, the details are in the release notes.

Re: [Lubuntu-admins] [lubuntu-devel] Lubuntu Zesty Zapus Alpha 2 has been released!

2017-01-28 Thread Ian Bruntlett
Hi Simon et al,

Something (big) cropped up. When I returned to my NetBook, the screen had
locked. Typed my password in. System then (visually) unlocked itself,
paused briefly and then locked me back out again. You can test this more
quickly by using the keyboard shortcut of CTRL+ALT+l

Naturally I thought I'd got the password wrong. Tried typing in the
password in upper case and it didn't do the above - it gave a red error
message, pretty much expected.

The only way I could get into a locked system again was to chose a
"Shutdown" menu option.

Played around with it for a bit. Managed to unlock the NetBook successfully
once - then it resumed its unhelpful behaviour.

Is there a LaunchPad bug for this?

BW,

Ian

Hi Ronald,

- Please specify the computer (or motherboard)
. brand name and model
. RAM (size)
. graphics card/chip (brand name and model)
. wifi card/chip/dongle (brand name and model)

- Is any other internet service running, for example email?

- Which version of Lubuntu are you running?

- How did you install Firefox, and which version of Firefox is it?

- Which add-ons have you installed into Firefox?

- Does Firefox work for you in a live session booted from a DVD/USB
drive with Lubuntu 16.04.1 LTS?
