Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] put back task bar(Window List) lxde

2010-06-30 Thread Phillip Whiteside
Hi andy,

not only does it not work, but it does not work quite badly... As I did have
to test it.

Any one got any ideas as to how to rescue this?

thanks,

Phill.

 Thanks Andy,

I just have to wait for the OP to come back on.

Right click the panel - properties (or edit panel). You will then see a
 dialogue like this:
 http://lxde.sourceforge.net/screenshots/lxpanel_pref.png

You can then readd the task bar (window list) item

 all done

 Hi,

well, it had to happen :-)

Remove Task Bar (Windows List) From Panel

Once someone has done that, how do they get it back? (I'm too big a
coward to try that on my system, so it's possibly one for the devs)

 Thanks,
 Phill.
it reminds me of the Do NOT remove network manager warning I see on the
 support forum

I have a usb headset that I use to create my screencast. There is no
problem with this. The only thing I have to do to record properly is to
volume up the recording volume in alsamixer - record.
The best is to check if volume is turned on not muted in alsamixer.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] usb sound

2010-06-30 Thread Andrew Woodhead
No I just use one that plugs into my already configured soundcard. Using USB
for audio just over complicates things and I have no idea why the idea has
taken on so much. We have audio in and out on the soundcards we use, even
ones back i the ealy 90s had them. Why can't we just use those. So much
easier, no drivers, no worries. Just slam it in and BAM!! It works.

[Lubuntu-desktop] New kernel available

2010-06-30 Thread Goh Lip

There is a new kernel, 2.6.32-23 available in Lucid and as per Daniel
Hallett's post, there is no notification in Lubuntu about any upgrade.
Just a friendly reminder to upgrade to the new kernel. And don't forget
to reboot to effect the change (and there's also no warning in Lubuntu
to do that).

Oh, and if the grub being set to mbr (sda) is not from Lubuntu, another
reminder to go to the OS where the grub is set and do a 'update-grub'
so that it will boot to the new kernel in Lubuntu (otherwise the old
kernel will be used).

Regards - Goh Lip
