Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Uninstalled package asks for updates in update manager
Hi, I deleted all the files cited, still get the offer from the update manager to update Apache. Maybe this output below would help to figure it out? Thanks again. giga1@giga1:~$ locate Apache /usr/lib/perl5/DBI/ProfileDumper/Apache.pm /usr/share/common-licenses/Apache-2.0 /usr/share/man/man3/Apache::RPC::Server.3pm.gz /usr/share/man/man3/Apache::RPC::Status.3pm.gz /usr/share/man/man3/DBI::ProfileDumper::Apache.3pm.gz /usr/share/perl/5.10.1/CGI/Apache.pm /usr/share/perl5/Apache /usr/share/perl5/Apache/RPC /usr/share/perl5/Apache/RPC/Server.pm /usr/share/perl5/Apache/RPC/Status.pm /usr/share/perl5/Apache/RPC/status.xpl giga1@giga1:~$ locate apache /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/apache2-common /etc/bash_completion.d/apache2ctl /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf /home/giga1/cedt-286-portable/spec/apache-conf.key /home/giga1/cedt-286-portable/spec/apache-conf.spc /home/giga1/libvpx/examples/includes/geshi/geshi/apache.php /usr/share/doc/librpc-xml-perl/README.apache2 /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-addtype_all.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-cominclude.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-cominclude_all.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-include-postrm.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-include.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-include_all.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-index.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-index_all.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-php.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-run.get /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-uncominclude.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-uninclude.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache-uninclude_all.sh /usr/share/wwwconfig-common/apache.func giga1@giga1:~$ giga1@giga1:~$ sudo apt-get -s update Hit http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick Release.gpg Ign http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main Translation-en Hit http://archive.canonical.com maverick Release.gpg Ign http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ maverick/partner Translation-en Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick Release.gpg Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main Translation-en_US Ign http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main Translation-en_US Hit http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick Release Ign http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ maverick/partner Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.canonical.com maverick Release Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/multiverse Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/multiverse Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/restricted Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/universe Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/universe Translation-en_US Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick-updates Release.gpg Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/multiverse Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/multiverse Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/restricted Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/universe Translation-en Hit http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick/main Sources Hit http://archive.canonical.com maverick/partner Sources Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/universe Translation-en_US Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick-security Release.gpg Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/main Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/main Translation-en_US Hit http://extras.ubuntu.com maverick/main i386 Packages Hit http://archive.canonical.com maverick/partner i386 Packages Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/multiverse Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/multiverse Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/restricted Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/universe Translation-en Ign http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security/universe Translation-en_US Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick Release Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick-updates Release Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick-security Release Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick/main Sources Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick/restricted Sources Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com maverick/universe Sources Hit http://us.archive.ubuntu.com
[Lubuntu-desktop] Fwd: [ubuntu-uk] Ask Mark session
Well, what can I say? Mark Shuttleworth in a QA session... Yeah, i missed it as well :( jcastro QUESTION: will lubuntu become official?15:12http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:12 sabdfl i would like it to, yes15:12http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:12 sabdfl i think the lubuntu team have done excellent work to make sure that it's possible - integrating their processes and output into the main archive 15:12 http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:12 sabdfl there's a thread on the TB list and I'm behind on mail, we're waiting iirc for comment on tools, like iso testing 15:12 http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:12 sabdfl from an experience and governance point of view, Lubuntu meets my personal requirements 15:13 http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:13 sabdfl it has solid leaders, a good track record of delivery, and works in the spirit of Ubuntu 15:13 http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:13 sabdfl we need to know if there are costs or work to be done on the tools front, but I expect they are manageable 15:13 http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2011/05/04/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t15:13 sabdfl next! Lubunteers: Hearing those news is just awesome!! May I ask just one silly question? (and excuse me for doing it): What Lubuntu (or the team) will gain by becoming an official part of the family? It's just that i don't exactly know ... Congratulations again to the team :) -- jpxsat ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Lubuntu-desktop] Benefits of Lubuntu being official (was: Re: Ask Mark session )

As well as the expected publicity and marketing benefits, at a technical level we would be able to use the official Ubuntu build infrastructure for creating our ISOs, and official test setups for tracking which tests have been done on which builds of Lubuntu. It should also mean that other developers and packagers within the Ubuntu world need to take Lubuntu seriously and not do anything that will break Lubuntu (like doubling the amount of calculated disk space needed just 3 weeks before release, and then not providing any way for the user to say I know what I am doing to get past the disk size check!). There are probably other benefits too, these are just the things that I am hopeful for and can remember right now :) Jonathan ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Also we can distribute Lubuntu better, we get it to their server and so on. Julian doesnt need to delete previous versions from his personal website as quota gets full ;) Good job every one, even the smallest bug report in launchpad counts what comes for the Participating in Lubuntu becoming a real buntu derivative.
