Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] memory notice

2011-07-07 Thread Phill Whiteside
I will set up a Virtual Machine to double check, the previous minimum was
~160 - 192MB The only change could really come from Ubiquity. There is a
minimal install available at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/GetLubuntu Specifically the
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Documentation/MinimalInstall
 area.

thanks for flagging this up, a leap to 384MB is certainly a leap too far!

Regards,

Phill.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] memory notice

2011-07-07 Thread Phill Whiteside
I can confirm that 11.04 it will not install in 256MB on Virtual Machine.
The minimal requirement for 'Live CD' is 384MB - This is where I summarise
the problem to be.

This is a fairly large bug!

Phill.

[Lubuntu-desktop] pcmanfm memory leak?

2011-07-07 Thread Jean-Pierre Vidal Piesset
Hi:

Could someone confirm this leak on 11.04? try to copy 2gb to a usb mass
storage connected to your laptop through a pcmcia card (everything is 2.0).
I tried it yesterday and i was able to do absolutly nothing while the files
were being copied. Before and after that, everything runned normally.
