[Lubuntu-desktop] [Lubuntu 12.04] No LTS
Hello everybody, First of all I am sorry for my bad English ; I hope I will be understood :) I wanted to react about the fact that Lubuntu 12.04 will not be a LTS version. I think it is a really bad news. Is there really no chance that Lubuntu 12.04 be a LTS version ? [Lubuntu-desktop] upgrade Lubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 failure
I hope I have placed this request to the proper maillist. For 2 attempts I have tried to upgrade to 11.10 via the Update Manager qui and since at reboot I was not able to get Lubuntu work properly. Taken another attempt by adding an additional xubuntu 11.04 and from here removing xubuntu and installing Lubuntu 11.10 did not work either. It just keeps hanging after my reboot passing the GRUB and giving me the Lubuntu logo till this point. My computer does not goes further then this. I was upgrading Lubuntu 10.04 and worked my way up till 11.04 via the Update Manager without any problems. Does anyone experienced the same situation before with upgrading to Lubuntu 11.10 ? As I am using the autologin feature of GDM instead of LXDM, could not find the option for LXDM, I noticed that Light DM came along with Lubuntu 11.10 ? [Lubuntu-desktop] How can I find themes to LXDE/Openbox??
Hi everybody! I'm having problems to find different themes to Lubuntu. I know that at box-look.org I can download some theme to Openbox, but I was only able to find and install the windows decoration themes. Is there any site that I can download Widget themes?? Or maybe I am looking for the wrong word (widget)?? Just go to www.gnome-look.org and download any GTK theme and unpack them on ypur .themes folder (hidden folder, press ctrl+h to see it). Currently, I can't guarantee than we will have people to maintain Lubuntu during 3 years. 3 years, it's long, and we have barely enough devs to maintain current releases. Previous LTS releases were Ubuntu and Kubuntu, because they had enought devs on Ubuntu side (Ubuntu Desktop team and Kubuntu Team) and enough on upstream team (GNOME and KDE). There are also companies support which make easier the long term support. However, as 12.04 will be a LTS for Ubuntu, we will do our best to maintain as much as we can this release, as long as we can, but I can't ensure the 3 years support. I hope I answer your question.
