BTW, the purpose of the new PPA will be testing artwork. I know, it's code
and cannot "crash", but I preffer to "isolate" the packages before make it

Hum, that's interesting. I didn't see the comments. In this case, we can
probably assume that any CC 2.0 is CC 3.0. Btw I think the 2 licenses
are very close,  so it should not be a problem.

Only remain the wallpaper with no clear license.

Flickr hasn't added an option for CC 3.0. However, they both wrote in their
description/comment field that CC3.0 rights apply for their work.

Can we move forward like this or do we need to figure out another solution?

You've made a great job, Alex. Now is time to use the GIMP Plugin
Registry (ok, I'll do it) and recompress a lot those images. About the
inclusion of this package, I'm not the maintainer, Julien is. And I
don't know if we have enough space and / or time (we've already passed
out UI freeze).

I'll see it tomorrow.

The poll is over, I'd like to thank everyone who've helped out and
everyone who voted.

Personally I'd like to think the poll has been a huge success, we had
2848 votes in total. The poll is technically still up, but this is
because the poll app still lacks some features (more on that later).

There has been some discussion (between me, Rafael and Julien)
regarding how many wallpapers we will choose for the artwork package.
We'd obviously like to choose the top 6 wallpapers as mentioned
before, but it might not be possible due to space issues. In the
future we'll most likely create a community package (without a limit)
that will be available through the repos.

As for the results[1], we have these in the top 6 (as mentioned
before, all 6 won't make it, sadly):

"Natty Bug" by John Baer
"Lubuntu Moth" by John Baer
"Glass beauty" by pr09studio
"Lubuntu Blue Wallpaper with Logo" by llelectronics2k
"Clarity" by Foolish-fox
"Lubuntu Blue" by leogg!

All these artists have been informed and hopefully there won't be any
licencing issues.

I've also been contacted by the developer (also a Linux user) behind
the poll application that we used. I gave him some feedback and
thoughts, but if you'd like to give him additional feedback
yourselves, please do. He's a cool guy and he obviously wants to
improve his application. Hopefully he'll continue to improve his app,
just like we will continue to improve Lubuntu :).

I believe I've never introduced myself to this mailing list so I'll do it quick.
My name is Alexander Andjelkovic [1] and I'm very interested in
artwork and design.
My current task is to manage a poll which will help us select
community wallpapers for Lubuntu.

The poll is made out of contributions submitted to our Flickr group
[2] and the top six most popular wallpapers will be added to the
Lubuntu artwork package.

We have a problem with the current tool for polling however, users can
only vote on one alternative. Keep this in mind when you vote, as you
might want to vote on a less popular wallpaper to make it more
popular. I know it's pretty dull, but we'll solve it for the next time
we do a poll like this.
