I subscribed to that bug and added an offer to provide testing. While Wubi is not as stable as an actual installation it can be quite useful, particularly since many Win 7 OEM's now use 4 primary partitions. IMHO it's definitely worth pursuing. [Lubuntu-desktop] Wubi on 12.04
One thing I would like to see in Lubuntu, is the presence of Wubi. Personally, I'd prefer if Wubi wasn't available for the main Ubuntu CD as I don't trust it to work as reliably as a normal install or even a VM. Hi Jeremy, whilst not the biggest fan of Wubi either, it is a useful tool for a certain group of people. It certainly gives a better taste of Lubuntu than trying to run it of a LiveCD. As such, Wubi is an important option for people to try the ubuntu flavours out on a windows machine. The Wubi people do a good job of keeping it stable. regards. Phill.
