To install a deb file you can use:

sudo dpkg -i file.deb

And it will install, you can make apt attempt to satisfy dependancys (if
they are needed) with:

sudo apt-get -f install

Should be fine

How am I able to install the .deb file on lubuntu? And how am I able to auto 
install updates for lubuntu?
I am using lubuntu 10.04.

If you have already downloaded the deb file just double-click it and Gdebi 
Package installer should be launched.
For updates, you can either install update-manager and use that or open a 
terminal and use
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Automatic notification isn’t available in 10.04 because of problems with the 
indicator applet.
