You will need to add gkb - keyboard switching layout tool to 
Gnome panel - Right click on panel - Add - Utility -Keyboard layout switcher.
 Then Right click on Gkb applet when It appears on the panel. 
Select Prefrences , click Add. 
Press both shift to toggle back to english layout.

I az imah problem s tova. Nakraia go zariazah i promenih nastroikite na
X-a taka:

V /etc/X11/XF86Config, Section InputDevcie sloji

Option  XkbLayout us,bg,de
Option  XkbVariant ,phonetic,
Option  XKbOptions grp:lwin_toggle,grp_led:scroll

Ezicite shte se smeniat s Windows butona, lampichkata za Scroll Lock
shte ti pokazva v koi rejim si.

Predi njakolko meseca imashe diskusija w kojato wsichko beshe objasneno mnogo dobre:

Tam primera beshe s Frenski - pri teb razlikata shte e samo w reda:
Option XkbLayout us,bg,fr
kudeto na mestoto na fr shte slojish simwola za nemska podredba - predpolagam e de.
