Eduard Drach, a great Ukrainian singer, kobzar and composer, is releasing a 
CD of (mostly) his own psalms and ballads in the authentic 17-18th century 
Ukrainian style (I have adapted a few of these for baroque lute in recent 
years http://www.torban.org/pisni/drach.html ).

The whole CD can be heard on LAST.FM-
Make sure the last dot is included in the URL:

[LUTE] For all your music major/minor/major 7th

   I'm going to start my PLA course in Music Theory of renaissance

   And I wonder what you have learned when you learned this course.

   Or if you haven't what do you think is a must have martial  for a
   course like this (I'll probably already have almost of stuff, but more
   is better)

[LUTE] Ronn McFarlane Lute and Flute Weekend

   Lute and Flute Weekend with Ronn McFarlane and Mindy Rosenfeld Oct 3-4,
   2009.
   Moreland Hills OH (East Suburb of Cleveland)
   We are pleased to announce a weekend workshop that includes lute with
   Ronn McFarlane and baroque flute/recorder with Mindy Rosenfeld. The
   workshop is open to musicians (Renaissance and Baroque) of all levels
   (especially beginners), early music singers and classical guitarists.
   The following is the anticipated structure of the workshop, which may
   be tweeked based on number and background of the participants.
   Oct 2: Evening private lessons. Those who are in town are invited to
   come to the Apollos Fire 8 pm concert in Cleveland Heights. Program
   includes selections from the Bach B minor Mass and Vivaldis Gloria
   ([1]www.apollosfire.org). Group discount pricing will be available
   Saturday Oct 3:
   8:00 am to 10:00 am: Private Lessons
   9:00 am to 10:00 am:
   1) Tips and Tricks for Lute Tablature Software (Django, Fronimo,
   Harmony Assistant, Sibelius)
   2) The Lute Duet. Only played solo? Here is a chance to read through
   the rich repertoire of duets for Renaissance lute, Baroque lute and
   Baroque guitar.
   10:30 to 12 noon: Concurrent Lectures by Ronn and Mindy
   12 noon to 1 pm: Lunch (provided)
   1pm to 3 pm: Masterclass I
   3pm to 3:20: Coffee Break
   3:20 to 5:00 pm: Demonstration and Lectures How to accompany and be
   accompanied
   5:30 pm: Dinner (not provided). Go as a group to a local eatery
   8pm: Concert by Ronn McFarlane and Mindy Rosenfeld.
   Free to participants. Non-participants $20. Dessert reception to
   follow.
   Sunday Oct 4
   8:00 am to 10:30 am: Private Lessons
   9:00 am to 10:30 am: Lute and Flute tasting. A chance to try out a wide
   variety of lutes, recorders, flutes and guitars of different styles,
   tunings and stringing.
   10:30 to 12 noon: Masterclass II
   12 to 1:00 pm Brunch provided
   1:00 to ? Student Concert (free to all!). Play for fun only or be
   critiqued by Ronn and Mindy
   Late afternoon to evening will be slots for private lessons if
   necessary.
   Balance between lectures, Q and A and masterclass will depend upon
   participant interest and number of people wanting to play in a
   masterclass.
   Fees: $125 for the complete weekend. $100 for full time students
   Included: Private lesson, full didactic program, evening concert,
   lunches and coffee breaks both days, dessert reception after concert.
   Not included: Accommodation (local hotel list on request), dinner
   Saturday, Apollos Fire Concert Friday Night
   $60 for auditors (no lesson or masterclass participation)
