[LUTE] Re: new Duets
Dear Anton Many thanks for your valuable contributions to the lute repertoire, especially for ensemble music. I myself especially like Thomas Lupo's Masque. You are following exactly the way the ancient musicians did: rearranging and composing additional parts. By the way, Google tells me you are a multitalented artist: guitarist and lutenist (who studied with Hopkinson Smith and Paul O'Dette), composer and even a renowned painter. Please keep on sharing your lute pieces with us. Vielen herzlichen Dank Urs Leo Anton Höger wrote: hi, I have 2 new Lute Duets for you. Anton Höger wrote: hi, I have uploaded a Corrente from the Lucca manuscript, for a 7 ch-Lute. And, of course, I wrote a Contrepartie for a second obligate lute. It sounds very nice, and its easy to play. Enjoy it. P.S.: If I dont get any feedback of my work, I will not upload anymore and will delete all uploads! OK here's an amateur performance of it and some feedback (from an amateur, of course) and many thanks of making it available. www.pluckedturkeys.co.uk/Corrente.mp3 I'm playing it at a cautious pace (too slow?) because of bars 48-50 in your contrapartie which is a bit tricky. These bars and bars 28-30 threw me a lot. Stuart To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html

Seemed to work this time! Very nice and not too slow. Everyone seems to play everything at a hectic pace these days but I like to savour every note. I assume you were multitracking two parts?
