Göran, if you have fronimo or TAB source for this, would you be willing for me to put it on my site? With proper attribution, of course. Thanks! The search engine is self-explanatory, but it only finds pieces if you search for the exact spelling. For example, it will find all "D'ou vient cela" versions but not "Dubienschla" :) However, you can search for composers and sources. This is already done: http://gerbode.net/sources/D-LEm_leipzig_state_music_library/dlugorai_lute_book_1619/ Here's a general instruction how to use the archive: * all completely transcribed sources are to be found under "/sources" some are sorted by name (mostly the prints, but if a name exists for a print, manuscripts are also in that directory) all manuscripts with library codes are sorted in that library folder, for example: GB-Bl British Library single pieces may be found under "/composers" If you prefer playing from facsimile, those are in the "/facsimile" folder. You can also use google with site:gerbode.net, but this doesn't always work when the file doesn't have the name you are looking for. There used to be a search engine on cuerdas pulsadas, but it does no longer work. On 08.08.19 21:31, Terry Muska wrote: Dlugoraj ? Sent from my iPhone On Aug 8, 2019, at 12:30 PM, Frank A. Thanks for the kudos! It is nice to hear that my work is being put to good use. On the issue of fingerings: In many cases, I have posted a "performance edition" of pieces where I have personally worked out the fingerings (usually connected to a performance I was giving). In most cases, I have also posted a version without fingerings. The performance versions are usually differentiated by having a _P in their file names. In most cases, there is also an accompanying file without the _P sans fingerings. I have also had to transpose certain pieces when working with a particular singer, so since I worked out the pieces, I thought I might as well post them. Where I have done this, I generally included a reference to the key in the file name, such as _FM or _Gm. In some cases (also in connection with performances), I have made arrangements for archlute, etc. Here I have also tried to include something in the file name indicating the fact, like _archlute or _8C. Trying to go back and find all the files where I have put in fingerings to make sure I have an unadorned version would be a rather Herculean task. I believe it is possible, even in the free version of fronimo, to go in and delete the fingerings, then print out the result. The only thing you can't do with the free version of fronimo, I believe, is to save files. --Sarge On 8/8/2019 01:12, Matthew Daillie wrote: Dear Sarge, This is the perfect opportunity to thank you for all the incredible work you do. [LUTE] Re: Requests for new projects
Hi Sarge, this is a very generous offer by you - thanks a lot! I personally only have a few faksimiles on my hard disk, all items that float around on the internet (I can mail you copies if you want them). The following are in German Tabulature: Dohna Book (2 Weissel Books: Tabulatura Allerley künstlicher + Tabulatura Guter gemeiner Deudtscher Tentze (both 1592) Gerle Tabulaturen uff die Lauten 1533 + Musica Teutsch 1532 Willaert - Das Erst Buch 1572 >From German tab presumably are the following items which are on the fronimo >user group, most in fronimo2 format which you my add to your collection: Simon Gintzler 1547 Mus MS 1512 german dances and songs Hans Neusiedler - Der Ander Theil 1536 Best regards, Jurgen -- “Close your eyes. I have tended to prioritize German, then Italian tab sources, as many people do not read these easily. As I have moved away from performing and into editing, I have several lutes I would like to sell, mainly by van der Waals and Holst, but also an archlute by Dan Larson, a ren lute by Ian Harwood, and a couple of descant lutes. Not sure about the best approach, here. Occasional questions come up about arcane notations, particularly in German tab, so I may be asking questions about that as well. [LUTE] Re: Requests for new projects
Welcome Sarge! It is great to finally see you here on lutelist. Let me just state again publicly that your archive was *the* reason why I was able to learn how to play the lute. Without it, I would have never been able to grasp the full beauty and variety of Renaissance lute music. Your work cannot be praised enough. I encourage everyone to submit privately made fronimo files or rare scanned/photographed sources (if legally possible). Happy luting! :) T* On 07.08.19 23:16, Frank A.
