Sounds interesting. When I start back at work at Toho Gakuen in
January, I'll look for it in the music library.
True, they abound in 5 course guitar literature. I especially like
the one at the end of La Guitarre Royalle by Corbetta.

Yes, I had run across your page by a Google search. Very interesting.
Many people recommended the Gallot version, so now I'm now looking
for the tab for it. So far, I've just found a transfusion for 10
course lute on Wayne Cripps' site.

There is also a "Partie de la folie" (Berlin MS 40068, f 31v.) in d
minor in pages 78-79 of "The Baroque Lute Companion", the big anthology
(252 pieces) compiled by Stefan Lundgren.

Folies d'Espagne by Jacques Gallot (print 1670), Folies d'Espagne by Bethune la cadet
(ms.
Marguerita Monin, Paris, BN). The latter is actually for the angelique, but also
accessible in staff-notation: Guitar Music from 16th-18th Century, vol. 2, edited by
Adalbert Quadt. Another nice anonymous example is to be found in Antony Bailes' 32 Easy
Pieces for Baroque Lute (TREE edition), taken from ms. Oxford F.576.

Check out . It's a pretty good catalog of
a great many Folias, for d-minor lute and otherwise. I know Gallot wrote a
set of variations for lute, but the baroque Folia seems to have flowered
its fullest on 5-course guitar.

Not really. Make your own, I believe you are capable. Use Marais' as a
model.
