Actually the test output of sigc++/configure may be useful in the

What you are looking at is a default template parameter. It would seem
there is no support for this in your compiler and libsigc++ doesn't
specialize it. I thought you had compiled some of this sigc++ stuff
before?

Can you get the full library and try building it. There are a few
compiler tests left out of the mini-dist we use. Then we can file a
report to libsigc++ for your compiler.

Maybe we should either point to the LDN issue with the numbering changes
or just reuse the numbering diagram. Although I think I left out
prerelease numbers in that diagram. Might be the october issue I think.

What viewer should be chosen if both xdvi and kdvi are installed ?

And on the same subject, the only html viewer we check for is netscape,
while there are probably one or two alternatives :)
Seriously, what browsers should we try to detect ?
I think that netscape, mozilla and konqueror should be enough, but what
should be the order ? (let the browser war begin...).

I noticed that lyx is checking whether 'gv', 'ghostview', or 'xdvi' is
available but it ignores 'kdvi' and 'kghostview'. Could you please add these
two previewers to the script that checks the configuration?

The current lyx versions leave turds with names like 311217MwRHR

1.1.5 - stable
1.1.5fix1 - bugfix
1.1.6pre1 - pre of the _next_ release

Problem report for Lyx-1.1.6cvs

2001-01-05 Thread Michael Schmitt

Hi folks,

I'm back for testing lyx-1.1.6 a little bit!

Unfortunately, I get stuck right during compiling the source code. This is what
"SUN Forte C++ 6.0 Update 1" says:

CC -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I./.. -I./.. -g -Wp,-MD,.deps/basic_signal.pp
-c basic_signal.cc -KPIC -DPIC -o basic_signal.o
CC: Warning: Option -Wp,-MD,.deps/basic_signal.pp passed to ld, if ld is
invoked, ignored otherwise
"./../sigc++/basic_signal.h", line 66: Error: Invalid template parameter
default.
"./../sigc++/basic_signal.h", line 66: Error: Function templates may not have
default template parameters.
"./../sigc++/basic_signal.h", line 66: Error: A declaration was expected
instead of ">".
"./../sigc++/basic_signal.h", line 66: Error: A declaration was expected
instead of ">".

Does anybody have an idea what the problem is? I have never seen a C++
construct like the one in line 66.

Kind regards,

Michael

seminar.layout

2001-01-05 Thread Dekel Tsur

The current layout file for the seminar class is very awkward to use:
1. A comment paragraph is needed between every two slides
2. It is hard to put slide headings (they need to be nested)

I've tried to make a better layout file by using the same hack used in
slides.layout. However, the new layout is incompatible with the old one,
but I don't think this should be a great problem because I conjecture that
not many people have used the old layout.

Hello,

I am sorry for the slow reply, but I was busy during the last days. The
original changebar package is available as

http://www.ra.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de/~rainer/Download/changebar.tgz

the modified script as

http://www.ra.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de/~rainer/Download/chbar.sh

PLEASE NOTE: THE SCRIPT IS A QUICK HACK STARTING FROM THE ORIGINAL SCRIPT. A
LOT WORK WOULD BE NEEDED TO BE REALLY USEFUL.

I use the script like this:

chbar.sh -d test -r 1.3 date01.lyx

where the date01.lyx is compared with release 1.3 of date01.lyx in the CVS.
The resulting file is tmp.ps.

I think I won't have the time to maintain the script properly, but I could
integrate patches until a better solution is found.

Rainer.

After loading, try doing nothing (i.e. wait for LyX to finish
rendering). Does leaving it help ?

What version of ghostscript do you use ?

If leaving it helps, then it is the xforms bug - it is partially fixed,
but a full bugfix requires a new version of xforms which is yet to be
released.

Good. Applied.
