Re: Changing spec file for lyx-1.1.5 and lyx-devel
Since the poster also wanted a different executable name: use the wrapper #! /bin/sh exec /usr/local/bin/lyx ${1+"$@"} and call it, say, lyx-devel. Mate

You can use the current spec file to install with a different prefix. To install to a different prefix than /usr, use: rpm -ivh --prefix /usr/local lyx-1.1.6cvs-1.i386.rpm You might have to use --force as well. I tested this and it works. Just use a prefix like /usr/local/devel or any other unique directory not normally on your path. ---Kayvan

Changing spec file for lyx-1.1.5 and lyx-devel
would it be possible to change the spec file for the lyx-devel cvs tree to make it install in /usr/local the files and give the lyx executable another name (such as lyx-devel). This would allow us to have both version installed on one system without conflicting. -- |\ _,,,---,,_ Emmanuel GUREGHIAN ZZZzz /,`.-'`'-. ;-;;,_ mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] |,4- ) )-,_. ,\ ( `'-' '---''(_/--' `-'\_)
