OK I will wait for Qt 5.6 to be out. Meanwhile to solution is to use the
buffer in a new window, because if there is a single buffer in a window this
problem does not happen.

Thank you. :-)

I agree this would be undesired (although I cannot reproduce).

I don't think so. If you're taking about what I think you are, you are
referring to the issue where if you press tab, LyX receives two tabs
(this can be easily seen in ERT).

Interesting, I learned a new word.

I do not see this. For me the mini-buffer is opened.

I think so, but I cannot reproduce. Note that I am using Qt 5.6beta
though so perhaps it is a Qt bug that has been fixed. Also note that I
am compiling Qt so that could be another difference.

read-review and 2016 are file names. My problem is not that we try to assign a
key shortcut to access those files but that we assign it to a shortcut that is
already taken. :-)

I saw references, in the release notes, to duplicated shortcuts with qt 5.5
that are fixed in qt 5.6. Is this issue related with that problem?

I have a simple recipe to demonstrate this problem. I use the (x)emacs
shortcut style. In order to open the mini-buffer I type Alt+X.

I create a new document called xanthic.lyx (xanthic is a real word, and the
first that starts with an x that occurred me ;-) ). Now every time that I
press Alt I see that x in the file name is underlined and surely enough Alt+X
gets me in that file and it does not open the mini-buffer.

Is this clear now? :-)

I don't understand, are read-review and 2016 file names? Or they are
just text in a buffer?

Problem with key shortcuts on 2.2 with qt-5.5

2016-03-04 Thread José Matos
Hi,
when working with lyx-2.2beta2 I noticed a strange behaviour:

I am used to change the paragraph layout with Alt+P ... The problem now
is
that when I press Alt I see in the menus some letters underlined, F for File,
E for Edit and so on. That is to be expect and it works as in other
applications.

What is not to be expected is that when pressing Alt it also underlines letter
in the open buffers, as an example I have r for read-review, 2 for 2016 and p
for software-projects. So that every time I try to change the paragraph layout
I get in that buffer. A work around is to open the buffer in a new window and
then this problems does not occur.

The obligatory reference is:

LyX Version 2.2.0beta2
(Friday, February 12, 2016)
Built from git commit hash
Library directory: /usr/share/lyx/
User directory: ~/.lyx/
Qt Version (run-time): 5.5.1
Qt Version (compile-time): 5.5.1

Is this to be expected or a bug?
