The answer, I expect, is that it was less frequent before export in
threads, since, if you had happened to have gone through the document,
you wouldn't have seen the bug. But it would still have been there, much
like #7525. It might have been only one table that was wrong, though,
and maybe you wouldn't even have noticed.

Anyway, I'll have a look at the patch later. For now, it looks good, and
of course we'll also need it for branch.
