multibyte patch against cvs source (RE: multibyte support for lyx)
Hello, I wonder what happened to the multibyte patch I sent a week ago. It has never appeared in the Mail Archive. So I'm sending it again. It is against the recent cvs source (Feb.8). On 25 Jan 2000, Jean-Marc Lasgouttes wrote: Howdoes your package relates to those entries? Does it obsolete them or should I just add a third entry? I have not finished yet, but I am now trying to build the home page for the CJK-LyX (I call this temporary multibyte lyx "CJK-LyX", if you don't mind, until the codes become mature enough to be merged into the main cvs source). ChangGil Han But the ChangGil Han command "cvs diff -u -N" as instructed in the lyx web ChangGil Han page, does not produce the correct patch file. I am surprised that it does not work... We would of course be interested in having this patch and probably integrate it, if it does not cause problem in the basic LyX functionality. I still cannot figure out why "cvs diff -u -N" drops the new files in my source tree. Attached is my new patch. Since I'm no expert in C or C++, there should be much room for improvement. Any comments or corrections regarding the patch would be heartily appreciated. regards, ChangGil Han lyx-devel-kr.diff.gz

Someone who's got free time on their hands might want to post this on www.lyx.org/download/index.php3. And devel.lyx.org probably ought to mention Asian languages in the translation page (which is getting too long already, but that's life). It's not really fair that all we mention is Western languages. It wouldn't hurt to mention somewhere that we're moving to Unicode (we still are, right?) and that Hebrew is (?) working in 1.1 too. -Amir

You can't show internationlized Chinese/Japanese/Korean strings in the menues, nor in Warning messages, TOC etc. Nor can you Search/Replace multibyte strings easily (hard to input, can't display). We have to wait GUI indep for these to be displayed correctly. Regards, SMiyata

You have to add the following line, "#undef HAVE_XOPENIM" somewhere in "acconfig.h". I forgot to include this in the patch, sorry.
