The only minor problems I have seen is when the debian-packaged texlive lacks some package I want, that was distributed with debian's tetex. This have only happened a couple of times, and of course the missing stuff worked when I added it to /usr/local. Helge Hafting

AFAIK LyX works fine with texlive. At least the users of the Debian package requested that we offer the choice between tetex and texlive and since that's done I've got no complains. So I assume tetex and texlive are interchangeable without causing trouble for LyX users.
