user's guide LYX

2006-08-14 Thread Edgar Kann

Dear MIke Ressler,

Apparently I have corrupted the User's Guide English version for LYX
1.3.4. Large parts are missing, the numbering is gone and the Table of
Contents is blank. The other language User's Guides are OK. The
contamination seems to have spread to my backups. How can I correct
this problem? Can I import a correct version?

Thanks, Edgar
Kann

You can get the original file here:
http://www.lyx.org/trac/browser/lyxdoc/tags/lyx-1_3_4/UserGuide.lyx?format=raw

However, it may be a good time to try to get a newer version...

I suggest dl'd/extract the file from LyX 1.3.4 tar.gz /lib/doc
because it will be faster than getting it from the LyX Wiki.

Perhaps the Wiki is down for unscheduled maintenace or
chr is having a field day. A field day is a term used in
the American military for spiffing things up for inspection.

That reminds me of when Sherlock Holmes and the retired
English army Dr.Holmes were discussing sharing rooms and
were mentioning their possible stumbling blocks. Dr. Holmes
said, I have a bull pup.

But you never hear the dog mentioned again in their
investigations, because 'having a bull pup' was a
slang expression of the 1880's English army meaning
having a bad temper. (credit to Jaques Barzun)

That link you provided still hasn't loaded in all the
time it took me to compose this email.

mot juste,
Stephen

Our server seems to be very very loaded currently.

BTW, it is not the wiki, it is trac (source code browser).
