I found that LyX 1.4.1 (on Win) has the option document settings...
bibliography sectioned bibliography, so i can insert multiple bibtex
generated bibliography and add section (or subsection) names by myself.
There's some cons, though:
- I have to define myself the Bibliography section name
- I'm still not able to define the citation style as [Art1], [Art2] etc for
articles, [Book1], [Book2] etc for books etc. Should I define a bst file by
myself?

What's the problem with that? Otherwise it wouldn't simply be possible to add
your own bibliography section headings. The option printheadings (in
Document-Settings-Class Options), however, changes the behaviour.

yes. I would probaly try to hack alpha.bst.

You did something wrong, but it's a subtle (if not sneaky) thing. You
actually inserted the image in the caption of the figure.

Before typing the caption text, hit Enter. You should now have, inside
the float, an empty standard paragraph above the (empty) caption. Now
type the caption text in the caption line and insert the graphic in the
standard paragraph. (When the cursor is in the line containing the
image, keep an eye on the environment drop-down list, and if it says
caption, just change it to standard.)

By the way, if you want to center the image, you should change the
paragraph alignment to center (Edit-Paragraph Settings..., or the
Paragraph Settings tool bar button).

Javier,

What's the problem with that? Otherwise it wouldn't simply be possible to add
your own bibliography section headings. The option "printheadings" (in
Document->Settings->Class Options), however, changes the behaviour.

yes. I would probaly try to hack alpha.bst.
(as an alternative, if you have a manageable number of citations, the
package "splitbib" might help).

caption for figure in wrong place

2006-06-04 Thread AB
Hello
How to get caption below graphics?
I want to see in DVI:
 ---
picture

Figure 1. Text of caption.

I get picture before or inside caption like this:
--
picture

Figure 1.
Text of caption.

I do the following:
Instert -> Float -> Figure
Box figure appears in Lyx. I type some "text" as caption in it.
Then move cursor in front of "text".
Insert -> Graphics -> Browse -> choose file.eps

I installed Lyx 1.4.1 in one piece for winXP but get the same with Lyx 1.3.5
for linux.
Do I do something wrong or is it a flow in Lyx?

HELP!

I am a new Lyx user and I have a problem when I convert my document
to dvi format. The error message is the following:

"An error occured whilst running Python"
"D:/Utilitaires/lyx 1.4.1/Ressources/scripts

And when I ask the version in Draftdvi the message is "Bad dvi file."

In fact these problems disappear when I upload my bitmap images from
the document.

Can some explain the problem and how to remedy it? Thanks in advance

I regret I can't answer the question, but perhaps the additional

You did something wrong, but it's a subtle (if not sneaky) thing. You
actually inserted the image in the caption of the figure.

Before typing the caption text, hit Enter. You should now have, inside
the float, an empty standard paragraph above the (empty) caption. Now
type the caption text in the caption line and insert the graphic in the
standard paragraph. (When the cursor is in the line containing the
image, keep an eye on the environment drop-down list, and if it says
caption, just change it to standard.)

By the way, if you want to center the image, you should change the
paragraph alignment to center (Edit->Paragraph Settings..., or the
Paragraph Settings tool bar button).

The best approach would be for the original poster to post a minimal
example (LyX document plus image) that triggers the error message. Any
volunteers to translate that to French?

Hi everybody, first of all, my name is Javier and I'm new to latex lyx and to

The doubt I have is about using LyX-Code for inserting font code on a lyx
document. I followed the steps one by one, I inserted a ploat algorithm, then
I

select the LyX-Code environment, and everything whent ok, but when I try to
convert it to pdf I get the error: A character number must be beetweeb 0 and
255. I changed this one to zero.

Ok I understand the error, it's in this line of the font code I inserted: NUM1
DCD 3, -17, -27, 12, 322, and it's because of the negative numbers.

My question is: Is there a way to insert negative numbers in my font code? Am
I doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance for the help

Regards...

Javier,

First, welcome to the list. Second, I'm a little confused by what you
mean by the "font code I inserted". Are you defining a new font (in
ERT)? This does not match the arguments of the LaTeX font commands I've
seen, but then I'm pretty weak when it comes to font commands.

Perhaps you could just post a minimal example that triggers the error
message?

First of all thaks for the help

No, I'm not trying to define a new font, I'm trying to inserte an assambler
source code as part of my document (it's an article about ARM assambler
language) but when I try to convert it to pdf I get the error: "A character
number must be beetweeb 0 and 255. I changed this one to zero" because the
source code contains some negative numbers:

some code
***
num1 dcd 3, 17, 27, 12, 322 ->> this is the line where I get the error message
***
some code

If you want I can send you the lyx file to see it clearly.
