Re: [ANNOUNCE] LyX 2.0.7 Released

2014-01-24 Thread Raja Almukahhal
I love LyX. I have been using it extensively for over 10 years. The only big
issue that I have with it is the difficulties and complexities of numbering
equations. I wish there was a command for simply numbering any displayed
equations, with simple numbers 1, 2, 3 for each chapter.

Any remarks on that?

Thanks.

2014-01-24 Thread Wolfgang Engelmann
Dear Lyx Users,

I have exported my lyx file as a lyx archive, which contains as a tar.gz file
the lyx file, the used bib file and the figures used. This is quite handy,
because only the used figures, bib are saved.

However, I have this problem:
The path to the figures should be ./Kalanchoe-closed.jpg
as an example and not e.g.:
\begin_inset Graphics
filename BluFloClockTar/AAAflowerclock20130909/Kalanchoe-closed.jpg

since I would like to move the lyx file to another folder or send it away.
There are many figures, therefore I would prefer NOT to select each figure
path anew.

What would you recommend?
Using the tex file and, in an editor, replace the path, to end up with
./figureFile? Or is there a way in Lyx? (Which would be handy)

Wolfgang

[ANNOUNCE] LyX 2.0.7 Released

2014-01-24 Thread Richard Heck

Public release of LyX version 2.0.7
===

We are pleased to announce the release of LyX 2.0.7. This is the seventh
maintenance release in the 2.0.x series.

LyX 2.0.7 is the result of on-going efforts to make our stable version
even more reliable and stable. We have fixed a number of bugs and made
a number of improvements. These are detailed below.

The most important bug was #8854, which could lead to file corruption
in certain cases and, more often, would lead to errors in generated
files (e.g., PDFs). We encourage all LyX users to upgrade to this
version.

LyX is a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based
on the structure of your documents and not simply their appearance. It is
released under a Free and Open Source Software license.

You can download LyX 2.0.7 from http://www.lyx.org/Download/.

If you think you found a bug in LyX 2.0.7, either e-mail the LyX
developers' mailing list (lyx-devel lists.lyx.org), or open a bug
report at http://www.lyx.org/trac/wiki/BugTrackerHome.

If you have trouble using LyX or have a question, consult the
documentation that comes with LyX and the LyX wiki, which lives at
http://wiki.lyx.org/. If you can't find the answer there, e-mail the LyX
users' list (lyx-users at lists.lyx.org).

We hope you enjoy using LyX 2.0.7.

The LyX team.

Re: Here is the URL of the course page for LaTeX, LyX and friends (in French)

2014-01-24 Thread Murat Yildizoglu
Hi,

I have not put the PDFs and the LyX files of the chapters on open access on
the web page :
http://yildizoglu.x10.mx/ED-lyx-latex/

I have also included a link to the Ubuntu Wiki page.

Thank a lot for your suggestions.

I will check why the Sage module is broken now, as soon as I have some
time. I will inform you if I can find a solution.

Best regards,

Murat

That is exactly what I am doing, except the justification as I am
still using an older version and do not plan to upgrade before the
manuscript is submitted.

The goal would be to have no more than 70-80 chars per line, and to
avoid unnecessary and awkward spacing between words. I'm no expert,
but this should improve readability and thus productivity.

Highlight line which the cursor is in?

2014-01-24 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

is it possible to highlight the line where the cursor is in? This would
make proofreading a document much easier, especially in wide screens.

Thanks,

Rainer
