Re: No bibliography with LyX/biblatex/JabRef

2015-04-25 Thread Bernd Kappenberg

Because that is indeed the title. I agree it is not very handy.
Therefore I changed it in JabRef into title "Multi-script, multilingual,
multi-character issues for the online environment:" and subtitle
"proceedings of a workshop sponsored by the IFLA Section on Cataloguing,
Istanbul, Turkey, August 24, 1995". See attachment.

Have a look at the attached pdf and lyx files. I assume you have the
.bib file :). Don't forget to change the path as I am in Linux. I
did that once and spent 20 minutes wondering what I'd done.

I must have some minor setting not quite right but I've changed so
many in the last 2 days I probably am lost.

Thanks for all the help,

Hi Bernd,

Did you hear that knocking sound? It was me pounding my head against the
wall.

"authortitle" !!! I was tired enough last night (≈ 23:00 or so) and the
word "title" did not register. I must have read it four times and I think I
even typed it once.

I always use American Psychology Association (APA) format it wants (author,
date) and I somehow interpreted title as date. Arrgh. My excuse, and I'm
sticking to it, is that I don't believe I have ever seen an authortitle
used.

I changed it to authoryear and it worked! It does not seem to be giving me
full APA6 yet but that should come.

Thanks for all the help.

APA6 would be

\usepackage[style=apa,natbib=true,backend=biber]{biblatex}

\DeclareLanguageMapping{canadian}{canadian-apa}

I guess.

PDF preview in Acrobat Reader DC not working

2015-04-25 Thread Michael Treacy
Hi all,

My preview (CTRL+R) does not seem to work with Acrobat Reader DC. I've
upgraded the path in the preferences to c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat
Reader DC\Reader.

I still have Acrobat 10 on my system and I can get it to work with that but
every time that Acrobat Reader DC updates itself, it re-establishes itself
as the default viewer for pdf files.

When I try to get a preview, all I get is the opening screen for Acrobat
Reader DC, no preview. If I click on a PDF file on the pc, it works fine!

Any suggestions?

Mike.

Hi Mike,

Can you see if Sumatra works? An upgrade of Adobe reader would not
affect LyX's default PDF reader, and LyX prefers Sumatra.

Scott,

Many thanks for that.

I'm now using Sumatra as the pdf viewer and everything is sorted.

Many thanks!!
