figure floats descriptions
Hi, I am having problems trying to get a figure float to work when the description class of text follows the float. I want get the figure either on the left or right side, and have the description text on the side. I can get it to work as standard text, but I would like to use the description text because it bolds the first word and does not do indents. any ideas/suggestions? Thanks, Rodney

Yes, you are right..thank you..I found thatediting the preamble was easier to edit in a text editor rather than the lyx preamble. Thank you, Rodney

One more question. I got the page numbers to show both roman arabic. But when the arabic starts, the count continues where the roman left off (ex. i, ii, iii, 4, 5, etc) can I get the arabic to start at 1? p.s. this is the longest time difference I ever had: 10 hours from Berlin to Hawaii ... Wow 10 hour differenceso how's the weather there in Berlin? It is a cool 73 degrees here. Thanks for your help! Rodney

How do I insert a degree symbol? I tried doing a insert = special character = superscript = o but the o does not look quite right...is there another way of doing this? Rodney

I need help writing a element symbol (sim to H2O) the symbol should be like: = CO 3 I hope that shows correctly...but basically it's like CO2, but the = sign and the # 3 are above each other in superscript and subscript. I guess it would be like using the fraction without the line. Rodney

As suggested, I changed my paper to the article class. BUt how do I get the title to print on it's own page (like how the report class does it)? I do not want to use chapters..mainly section ans subsections.
