Converter not in /usr/bin; fixing nbsp
Hi, due to some reasons I don't want to put my converter into /usr/bin neither /usr/local/bin. It's, let's say, somewhere in my home directory. But when I put into converter list: /home/me/my_converter - it doesn't work. Yep, path's correct and double checked ;-) The second problem for me is making non-breaking spaces between a single letter and a word. It's necessary in polish typography. It can be done with a simple script: #!/bin/bash if [ $1 ]; then cat $1 | sed ' / [aeiouwzAEIOUWZ] *$/ { N s/ *\([aeiouwzAEIOUWZ]\)\n */ \1~/g }' | sed 's/^ *\([aeiouwzAEIOUWZ]\) */ \1~/g' | sed 's/ *\([aeiouwzAEIOUWZ]\) */ \1~/g' fi but sometimes it breaks my document. Is there a way to run this script only in text blocks, i.e. omit arguments of commands and maths. Tomasz

Re: Specific converter and child documents
Any news about this matter? I'd like to see it integrated somehow into lyx. There's also well known script called sierotki.el which works, as I read, well with emacs. I've to emphasize that eliminating that single letters on the end of each line in polish typography is very important. Can I somehow help? 2008/11/16 Tomasz Kołodziejski [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Yeah, I think it'd be quite useful. My script is very easy and as far as I remember it can break something when in your image there's such a single letter (it's stupid and inserts ~ almost everywhere ;-)). You can see it here - http://neo.mlodzi.pl/sierotki (three links described in polish: sierotki - script adding ~, pdflatex_pl described in my previous post and licence) Now you can also try a bug I was writing about. Pozdrawiam ;-)

Specific converter and child documents
Hi, I wanted to create quite a big document. I use a lot inserting child documents. I've created a script called latex_pl which inserts ~ between every letter a, e, i, o and so on. It's required by polish typography. (for example - you shouldn't leave letter a alone on the end of a line; nevermind) So I've added that script into converters section somewhere in lyx options. It works with no problem when I click pdflatex preview with a single document. But when I click same button on a document with inserts of child documents - it looks like they're compiling using normal pdflatex not my modified one. Why? And how can I fix it? By the way, thanks for 1.6! Regards, Tomek

1.5.6 deb
Hi, since I experienced some problems with using the opensuse rpm package I compiled from source myself. I really like LyX so I want help others to use it. I've created a package for Ubuntu Hardy which you can find on my server --- http://neo.mlodzi.pl/tmp/lyx_1.5.6-1_i386.deb . I'd like to see it copied ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/1.5.6 (- here ;-)). If someone read this e-mail I'd like to get an answer whether I write into a vacuum or not. Thanks a lot for your effort, Tomasz Kołodziejski
