You need to copy all the png files from the tempdir 
(e.g. 'cp lyx_tmpdir24080a24080/lyx_tmpbuf24080a24080/*.png DESTDIR/')

Another option is to disable the temporary directory.

PS: I'll fix this bug shortly.
