Can I replicate this using the 1.4.0 release, if so, how? I know I can supply my own custom margins but I would like to use the small and very small margins settings. Yes. \usepackage{a4} or \usepackage{a4wide} in the preamble. However, before you do this, read this (section 1.1): ftp://tug.ctan.org/pub/tex-archive/info/l2tabu/english/l2tabuen.pdf (this is why it has been removed from LyX). HTH, Jürgen

Re: Margins in Lyx 1.4.0
I've adjusted margins in Document - Settings - Page Margins on Panther (Powerbook G3 and a G4 Cube) and on Tiger (iMac G5). This is probably a different procedure than you're used to. I've not used earlier versions of LyX. I've been looking around in the settings but I can't find a simple way to do this. I've tried using the \usepackage{layout} and \layout in the document to see what the difference between the small margins and very small margins settings are in 1.3.7 but both report the same layout page.
