Some of the same. I'm running the Win32 port of LyX 1.1.5fix2
and using Ghostscript 6.01 for Windows.

This version of Ghostscript does not render eps pictures within LyX,
but with the Win32 port of LyX comes Ghostscript 4.03 for Cygwin.
By adding this version to my path before the 6.01 version, and the
same with my GS_LIB variable, LyX renders eps pictures just fine
while I can still use the 6.01 Windows version for viewing the output.

This is because LyX uses the X server for communication with Ghostscript,
hence you must use the Cygwin Ghostscript.

I'm doublechecking the gs 6.50 situation now (I had it working with a
recent gs version recently, but I'm not sure if it was 6.50 or not).

Sorry Guys,
I forgot to mention that I'm having those rendering problems on Linux.
There were no problems with version 6.01 (on Linux). As a solution so far,
I set the \ps_command - variable to Ghostscript 6.01, because version 6.50 works
fine with all other programs using ghostscript.

I've just confirmed this happens with lyx 1.0.4 (yep, that's how old the
installed version is here). I'm building a 1.1.6cvs currently but I bet it
will be the same. At a first glance, I'm not sure what the problem is here
- the relevant parts of the ghostscript source seem to be the
same. However, as this is the latest stable version of ghostscript, this
needs fixing, so I'm looking into it.

I thought it might be something to do with setting GSLIB environment
variable, but that doesn't make a difference.

Thanks for the report Armin.

This has been the case in the test versions since about 6.30, maybe
earlier. But that was about the time that 1.1.6cvs cranked up.
