By the way, is there a webpage which explains who to install packages ? Because I didn't find any .. How you install packages is a function of your LaTeX distribution, and may be covered in the documentation that comes with it. For Windows, if you are using MikTeX, and if the package is one supported by MikTeX, you can download and install it using the MikTeX Package Manager (from the Start menu). If the package is not supported by MikTeX, you have to download it manually, unzip if it comes in an archive, put the files in an appropriate directory (there is extensive documentation on the web about this -- Google "tex directory structure"), then update the TeX file name database (run the MikTeX Options program from the start menu and look for "Refresh FNDB"). Either way, if the new package defines a new document class that you want to use in LyX, you also must install a layout file for that class in the layouts subdirectory under either the LyX Resources directory or your home, and then reconfigure (and restart) LyX. /Paul

I don't think you should have to, but perhaps run the command texhash Since the LyX configuration script is looking for contract.sty, I think the style file should be installed as contract.sty (not as article.sty), then texhash should be run, then LyX should be reconfigured and restarted. /Paul
