Oh, us developers are so used to 1.2.0 we forget what 1.1.6 was like :) Anyway, it is fixed in 1.2 you'll be glad to hear regards john -- "Way back at the beginning of time around 1970 the first man page was handed down from on high. I'm confused: for english bindings, the key is underlined in the dialog so you can immediately see what does what. Thanks to the replies I found out that I can invoce the search from the keyboard: C-ssearch forward C-rsearch reverse Alt-V Search forward% "Vorwärts suchen" but not Alt-R "Rückwärts suchen" (is there any Alt-* binding for search reverse in the German localization?) The documentation (German user guide) doesnot mention keybindings for the find dialog, so the whole turns out to be a documetation request. Guenter -- [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I defined these to also respond to C-s and C-r (emacs bindings for search forward and reverse respectively) ages ago. Allan. (ARRae)

In my setting (SuSE 6.4, KDE1, LyX 1.1.6fix3): SPACE inserts a space :-) TAB toggles the focus between the Search and Replace fields :-) ENTER toggles the focus between the Search and Replace fields :-| Alt-E replaces one instance Alt-A replaces all instnces but no key/key-combination starts a search :-( This one is not dangerous but very annoying (as this way I need the mouse to click the arrow symbols which is not really productive).
