How to put two figures side by side having different Caption and No.?

2002-04-21 Thread Qing-Chang Zhong

Dear All,

There is a package called subfigure to put two sub-figures
side by side in ONE figure float. However, I want to put two
figures side by side but in two figure floats to obtain two
different CAPTIONs and figure numbers.

Do you have any solutions? Thanks a lot in advance.

Yours sincerely,
Qing-Chang

hello,

You can use "image float" to put figures side by side.
First, create a figure float.
Hit return (To have the image legend under the figure).
Add the first figure. Move the cursor on the right of the figure and,
Add the second image.
If you want two other image under the two first,
move the cursor on the right of the second image, hit return,
Add the third figure, move the cursor on the right of the figure and,
Add the last figure.
You can, now, add a title for the group of figures or/and, add subtitles
for each figure by using the subfigure menu (click on the figure to pop-up
this menu).
If figures are not side by side, change the size of figures.
Now, you should have a group of figures with a title for the group
(numbered FIG 3.1 for example) and subtitle for each figure (numbered a, b, etc
for example).

Two Figures side by side

1999-12-14 Thread Christian Schmitt

Hi,

is there a way to put two figures next to each other in a figure
float. Subfigures puts them under each other. I want them with a caption
and numbered with the other pictures in my text. At least the whole thing
should get a number and a caption. For the individual figures a subcaption
as with subfigures would be nice. But it would be best to have two figure
floats next to each other.

Thanx, Christian

Create a table and put a figure in each table-cell.
