serminar class with figures problem and obtaining pdf file in landscape format

2006-03-06 Thread David Halpern
I would appreciate help with the following.

I'm using the document class seminar . When I generate a dvi file and view
using yap, I see exactly what I expect and things look good: some text +
figures (encapsulated postscript). In order to print the dvi file, I first
change portrait to landscape mode. Unfortunately, the figures seem to be
pulled to the bottom of the page and the caption is over/under the figure.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I've also tried to generate a pdf output as opposed to dvi. Unfortunately,
the output that is generated by pdflatex is portrait style not landscape.
How can change this within lyx? I know how to do this outside lyx, by first
typing dvips -t landscape myfile.dvi
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
