Re: [M100] A&J MicroDrive
Oh and apparently the tape is narrower than cassette, so there will be no cobbling up any kind of home made cart using tape from a regular cassette. -- bkw On Fri, Jul 15, 2022, 8:10 PM Brian White wrote: > There are some exatron tapes on ebay right now but those are only the same > in essence, not actually the same. > > That video showing the Rotronics drive also shows a drive for Commodore > that is a similar overall configuration like mine, just the case looks like > abs while the a&j is extruded aluminum. Re: [M100] A&J MicroDrive
There are some exatron tapes on ebay right now but those are only the same in essence, not actually the same. That video showing the Rotronics drive also shows a drive for Commodore that is a similar overall configuration like mine, just the case looks like abs while the a&j is extruded aluminum. And other videos that show the insides remove all doubt. This drive mechanism is the same as the Rotronics and at least a couple others, but not the Sinclare microdrive or the Exatron stringy floppy. -- bkw On Fri, Jul 15, 2022, 5:49 PM David Anderson wrote: > The A&J Microdrive was made by a company spun off from Exatron, who made > the “stringy floppy” cassettes. Re: [M100] A&J MicroDrive
The A&J Microdrive was made by a company spun off from Exatron, who made the “stringy floppy” cassettes. The Wafadrive is the same mechanism, but made by BSR, who had a stake in Exatron, I think. It’s been a while. Anyway, the drives and cassettes are kind of hard to come by. They show up on the bay once in a while. David
