Oh and apparently the tape is narrower than cassette, so there will be no
cobbling up any kind of home made cart using tape from a regular cassette.

There are some exatron tapes on ebay right now but those are only the same
in essence, not actually the same.

That video showing the Rotronics drive also shows a drive for Commodore
that is a similar overall configuration like mine, just the case looks like
abs while the a&j is extruded aluminum. And other videos that show the
insides remove all doubt. This drive mechanism is the same as the Rotronics
and at least a couple others, but not the Sinclare microdrive or the
Exatron stringy floppy.

The A&J Microdrive was made by a company spun off from Exatron, who made the 
“stringy floppy” cassettes. The Wafadrive is the same mechanism, but made by 
BSR, who had a stake in Exatron, I think. It’s been a while.

Anyway, the drives and cassettes are kind of hard to come by. They show up on 
the bay once in a while.
