OK, I found a drop-in replacement fork of DynamicPageList called
DynamicPageList3 that is compatible with Mediawiki 1.39.

This utility generates lists of links based on tags in the linked pages. So
you just have to tag the page with a category and then they show up in
other cross reference lists.

Seems to be working again.

Ah, the Dynamic Page List extension didn't survive the upgrade. Didn't know
if it was used much.

I will see if I can enable a newer version.
