have no idea what I was saying just stay out of it! You just presume I was

don't say anything! So go shove it! Have a nice day! Oh by the way no I
don't chastise anyone for grammar or spelling like you do by the way! Like

Hi Bubba, or what ever your name is; you've posted to various lists using
three different names and some of your past headers suggest that you're
employed by the state of Florida, so I'm not quite sure how to address you.

Apparently the civil service human resource screening people down there
don't have standards; I mean, do you really lack the reading comprehension
skills to ascertain what Annie meant, or was your goal to waste all of our
time pointing out that she was guilty of a typo. I think that English is
not Annie's primary language, yet I've learned a lot from her on these
lists. The irony is that your posts consistently contain about 20 times the
average number of spelling and grammatical errors, yet English is presumably
your primary language. Go figure!!

Best regards.
Geoff

Re: Finder problem

2012-01-20 Thread 1smart...@cox.net

Hi John,
Thank you. You put me on the right path. I also trashed the
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist file. Then, rather than reboot, I force quit
Finder and relaunched.

Fixed.

Thank you again. I appreciate the reply and the help.

Karen:

Go to home folder and under library go to preferences.

Once there, look for com.apple.finder.plist and delete this file.

Once you do this, do a reboot right way. Once you reboot this file will
be recreated.

Hope this works, I had a finder a few months ago and by deleting this file
refreshes finder.

Hi! Sara

I hope you can be patient with me because some of the areas on my Mac book
pro I am still getting my head around and other parts I can get without any
problems.
I followed your instructions right through to opening utilities, went to
commander then went to the tab after the table which is add. I pressed VO
spacebar on this and typed in the letter that I was going to use. Then I
went to command menu and I pressed VO spacebar. Then went down to web
submenu but I couldn't find anything about DOM or group here all it said
when I pressed VO spacebar on web submenu was find next auto web site. I'm
probably doing something wrong. Can you set me straight and tell me what to

RE: Shortcut key for save as

Hi! Anne

Your right the save as command doesn't work anymore in text edit. I just
tried the shortcut key that Sara recommended in an email and it doesn't
work. Can you please tell me how to do Duplicate command which creates a
copy of the file with the word Copy appended to the filename and how do I
change the filename in the Finder. I hope you can help.

Hello Margaret,

In Lion, the Save As command has gone. You have to use the Duplicate command
which creates a copy of the file with the word Copy appended to the
filename. You can then change the filename in the Finder.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi Michael, just wondering after you've given a file a name and use Command
S to save it, does it keep adding another version to the document?
So to simply say this, do you get another file when you have saved it or
does it override the one you are using so that in the 1st place you just
have 1 file but keep doing Command S just saves over the top of it.

Thanks

Re: text edit files

2012-01-20 Thread Daniel McGee
Hi Michael, just wondering after you've given a file a name and use Command S
to save it, does it keep adding another version to the document?
So to simply say this, do you get another file when you have saved it or does
it override the one you are using so that in the 1st place you just have 1 file
but keep doing Command S just saves over the top of it.

Thanks

Can you reproduce this with another account? I know it's a bit drastic but if
not then I'd create a new account and then move all of your files there.

Take care.

Hi there. Can someone tell me what the difference in text edit between
duplicating a file and saving a version? How do you edit a document and save

Thanks.

Yes. View makes no difference. I've been on the phone with an Apple tech for
the last six hours and even they could not help. We activated a remote
connection so he could see the problem. It's had to be escalated but I
probably won't hear back from them for a week he said.

The problem started when I was attempting to use the mouse to drag and drop
from IPhoto to the Desktop.

Whatever I did using the keyboard with the mouse and cursor tracking caused
the problem.

I've got to say I am really excited about this App and the possibilities it
offers both in terms of publishing through the proprietary iBookstore and the
possible accessibility enhancements that will hopefully be passed along to
it's siblings, Pages, Numbers & Keynote.

Hi Bubba, or what ever your name is; you've posted to various lists using three
different names and some of your past headers suggest that you're employed by
the state of Florida, so I'm not quite sure how to address you.

Apparently the civil service human resource screening people down there don't
have standards; I mean, do you really lack the reading comprehension skills to
ascertain what Annie meant, or was your goal to waste all of our time pointing
out that she was guilty of a typo. I think that English is not Annie's primary
language, yet I've learned a lot from her on these lists. The irony is that
your posts consistently contain about 20 times the average number of spelling
and grammatical errors, yet English is presumably your primary language. Go
figure!!

Best regards.
Geoff

Wow that is no good in my opinion. Mood messages don't matter that much

Re: removing podcasts

2012-01-20 Thread Red.Falcon
Hi there!
You might have to tick the box in Itunes prevs to show podcasts in the main
window!
You can also get rid of any you have that you might not want!
Or add others!

If you're looking for something web-based, I've got the perfect
solution. I can send it to you if you desire. It uses php/mysql,
which is why it's web-based, but it works perfectly with vo, and

Probably not what you're after, but if it is, let me know.

Re: Using LookTel Money Reader for the first time [was Re: Strange behaviour with money reader.]

2012-01-20 Thread Esther
Hi Mike,

The LookTel Money Reader app for the Mac and the version for iOS devices are
two separate items, and have to be purchased separately. One uses the camera
built into your computer, and the other uses the camera built into your iPhone,
iPod Touch, or iPad. These have different machine architectures, different
auto-focus and machine lighting controls, and different camera resolutions.
So, yes, the LookTel Money Reader application from the Mac App store is
separate from version of the LookTel Money Reader app from the App Store for
your iOS device, and must be purchased separately. These versions don't always
work equally well; I quite like Prizmo OCR on my iPhone, but wouldn't recommend
the version of Prizmo in the Mac App store, at least not for visually impaired
users.

Here's the link to the iOS version of LookTel Money Reader:
• LookTel Money Reader ($9.99) by IPPLEX
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/looktel-money-reader/id417476558?mt=8

I also meant to remind people that the camera on the app stays active until you
actually quit the application by pressing the Home button to return to your
home screen. You can use it with the screen curtain on, however.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

Re: Using LookTel Money Reader for the first time [was Re: Strange behaviour with money reader.]

2012-01-20 Thread Michael Busboom
Hello Esther and others,

Esther, your explanation was super, but I am having a totally different issue:

While on my Mac, I went to the MacStore and purchased the aforementioned Money
Reader. It works great on my Mac. Do I need to purchase the money Reader a
second time if I want a copy for my iPhone 4? If not, how do I get the app
onto my iPhone? Although I have synchronized my iPhone with my Mac, the app is
not on my iPhone.

Many thanks,

Mike
