Hello Everyone
Vmware has released version 6 of their Fusion software. The below is fantastic
news for everybody.
It is easier than ever to try Vmware Fusion before committing to a purchase!
Simply go to
www.vmware.com/fusion
and click on the try for free link.
The application comes as a disc image. So it is just a case of opening the disc
image and copying the only file that is in there to the applications folder.
When you run Vmware Fusion for the first time, just follow the instructions,
and choose the I would like to try Vmware Fusion 6 for 30 days radio button.
Click the continue button, enter a valid e-mail address (only used by Vmware to
send you promotions), select the edition you want to try from the group of
radio buttons, and click the done button.
You can now enjoy the power of virtualization on your mac at no cost for up to
30 days.
In case you haven't got the hint already smoile, the application is fully
accessible with VoiceOver as all previous versions. I am using the trial as I
speak. So it can be done with no sighted assistance whatsoever!
Enjoy!

Re: Vmware Fusion 6

2013-09-08 Thread Chris H
Andy, Vmware Fusion is one way of running Windows on your mac, the other
being Bootcamp. The great thing though is Vmware Fusion is fully
accessible. Even installing Windows is fully accessible so long as you
use the Easy Install option.

Hi George,

That is strange as I have an MP4 Movie on my iPhone and iPod Touch and
it plays fine. It may be that the iPad etc only accepts a certain type
of MP4 format.
As to video converters, I'm not sure of any for the Mac as I use
Windows for converting files a lot, however, I believe NCH software:
http://www.nch.comn.au/ have a version of Switch or Prism Video
Converter for the Mac, that you can use for a 30 day demo before
buying. Don't quote me on that though.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Regards.

VMware Fusion 6.0

2013-09-08 Thread Gordon Smith

 Hi everybody
For the benefit of anybody who may find this useful, VMware
Fusion version 6.0 is almost up on our servers as I write. We
are also going to put up VMware Fusion Proffessional as well, if
anybody has need of that.
Warning: Do not install the Proffessional version unless you
have need of its management functionality. The Proffessional
version is only intended for IT specialists and proffessionals
and specialists who need to manage networked installations of
guest operating systems.
I will shortly try Fusion 6 for accessibility, and report my
findings on our blog which you can find at:

httpcc//blogddmac-iosddaccessddnet

Thank you.

Kind regards
Gordon

Cool. someone already did a write up and they said the accessibility was good.
They are an IT specialist of apple products and they tested the professional
version. They said there was not much difference between accessibility of 5 vs
6.

Tc and be blessed.

The differences are in the serial numbers I think when you
lisence the package. But I say don't buy the Proffessional
version unless you have thefffush and manage Windows
installations on your corporate network. The actuabbl software
is the same, but with the standard version you dont get all of
the network management tools.

i think i resolved my problem of mail being moved from my inbox
on my mac when i first installed lion.
i deleted my bt account, set it up again and it just resolved the
issue i was having i think without me changing settings.
i tried changing to pop3 rather than imap only i couldn't get
pop3 but i now believe i have my problem sorted anyway.

Hello Justin,

Which format do you need? I can send you a template for APA or

for MLA.

If you need a lesson on how to use them, we do that via Skype for

Hello all:
last week there were some messages about moving text with VO in a
document. Somebody advised to use CMD Arrows to go to the
beginning and end of lines and documents. But how to go one page
up or down? If I use my fingers on the trackpad, Vo announces the
next or previous page, but the cursor won't move. Any ideas to
do a voiceover effective page up or down?

Thanks!

new member of list with a basic question?

2013-09-08 Thread Henry Miller

Hi All

My wife has just bought a mac book pro and is gradually working her way
through the getting started guide. We are trying to customise voice Over
within the voice over utility and wish to open the Verbosity icon to access
the settings-although we can navigate around the category headings within
the table we cannot open verbosity to change settings.

Please could someone explain the keystrokes to open Verbosity?

Best wishes

Henry

In Lion, every time I tabbed through my appointments, it would say the

In mountain lion it says the subject name followed with a 7 to 10 second delay,
followed by the calendar's name and list view.
My wife's mac does not do this at all.. It speaks the same as my lion version.

I have checked all settings for voice over and calendar preferences.
What have I missed

thank you for all your help!!!
The only difference between our macs is hers is an i7, mine is an i3.

Re: Authentication has no windows?

2013-09-08 Thread Andy Collins
From your explanation, it sound like you have executed a cmd w to close the
window within the application, that's why it says the app has no windows, and
you will have to open the app again from the doc or wherever -

Re: VMware Fusion 6.0

2013-09-08 Thread don bishop
Thanks,
I was wondering which version was appropriate.
I do have a couple questions though.
I assume vo doesn't talk in the windows environment so I need to install a
windows screen reader. Is this correct? If so, is user account control
active?
I'm okay with that, but it's good to know ahead of time. I'll probably use
windows 7 since that's what I'm most familiar with.

Many thanks,

Don
