Garageband for IOS

2013-10-08 Thread Christopher Gilland
Good evening guys.

I trust that everyone is having as great of an evening as I am over here.

I have a real quick question about Garage Band on IOS 7. So, here's the issue.
I have a few karaoke tracks which are formatted as .MP3 files. Normally I'd
record my vocals in my studio with ProTools, however just for laughs and
giggles, I'm wondering if either using the internal mike, or the inlined
earpods mike, if I can import the mp3 karaoke track into GB on my IPad, then
overdub my lead vocal track, then get it out of the IPad back to the completed
project as .mp3 file on my Macbook Pro which I use for syncing my IPad.

I know I'd get a way better sound using ProTools. That's inevitable. I
basically don't have a particular reason why I want to do it this way instead;
I just want to try it, mainly just for the heck of it. Well, and two, I bought
GB a while back, so I'd really like to try learning to use it, and stop
waisting my money I spent on it. OK, it wasn't that much, but still...

Anyone, I know nothing about GB for IOS. I don't think I have ever even
launched the thing. It's kind a just been sadly sitting there with no friends
on my home screen crying its little eyes out, saying, Daddy! Use me! LOL!
ROFL! J/K. Seriously though, please be down to the nitty gritty specific step
by step on how to do this, if you write me back telling me how to accomplish
this. Yes, I'd be honored to share it with the group once the recording's done.

Have a wonderful evening guys.

God bless.

Hi Chris,

Option+control+page-up activates notification center, and
option+control+page-down brings up control center regardless of focus.
IE, it isn't necessary to first press option+control+m to get to the

Alternatively, one can first move focus to the status bar via

Seeking Help with XCode

2013-10-08 Thread Ray Campbell
Hello All:

I'm taking an IOS App Development course and need some help with XCode. I'm
running XCode version 4.63 on a MacBook Pro with OS 10 Mountain Lion and use
VoiceOver.

In Interface Builder in XCode, I'm able to find and place controls on my
view. However, I'm having trouble connecting the controls to code reference
outlets. I tried the instructions from maccessibility.net, and while I can
drag the control over to the file it needs to go in too, I can't enter the
name into the window that's supposed to pop up in XCode, even though
VoiceOver gives me the message "XCode has new window."

Anyone have any ideas of how I can make these reference outlet connections,
either using the GUI or in code?

Thanks,

iTunes Radio reportedly expanding to UK and other English speaking countries

2013-10-08 Thread Chris H

Good afternoon all.
Below is a link to an article from a UK based website detailing iTunes
Radio availability to expand to the Uk and other English speaking
countries in early 2014.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/news/a521822/itunes-radio-to-launch-in-uk-canada-and-australia-by-early-2014.html?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=dsuk&utm_campaign=twdsuk
As a result, I have just subscribed to and turned on iTunes Match ready
for the expansion, as well as the uses as of right now.

Please note the link may have expanded to more than one line.

Re: Airplay

2013-10-08 Thread William Lomas
hi to all to clarify what is going on

when i use my iPhone with the apple tv and airplay met wife can still hear her
macbook air with no issues. when however she turns on her mac or wakes it up,
if the apple tv is active even waiting for audio the macbook is automatically
going to it in airplay mode muting vo speech and not giving her the chance to
select where she wants the audio routed.
why does this automatically occur?
thanks for all help and will try turning off and on vo

I’ve just heard of the crossover app that lets you run windows applications on
the mac without installing windows.
I just wondered if anyone had tried it.
