Move VO to the top of the Skype Window with Vo-Command-left Arrow, Vo focus
will be on the Toolbar, navigate with Vo-Right arrow once to reach the Sidebar,
you can use Vo-Shift-Down arrow to interact with the sidebar to select what you
want, Skype Home, Contacts, Recents, History etc.

You must have iTunes open when you follow the link..

On the page you'll see a "View In iTunes" link.

From here you sign into your account and download the book.

Re: selecting more than one item in mavericks

2013-12-27 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Mike,

To select multiple non-contiguous items in Mavericks, press VO-Cmd-Return to
enter selection mode, then press the same combination to select the first item.
Navigate using the VO keys to the next desired item and press the same
combination again. Do this until you have selected all your items and the next
different keystroke will take you out of selection mode.

There is no need to turn cursor tracking off just as there was no need to do so
under Mountain Lion.

This command is found in the Commands menu as Toggle Multiple Selection On or
Off in the General submenu.

Cheers,

Anne

selecting more than one item in mavericks

2013-12-27 Thread Mike Arrigo
Hey everyone, ok, I guess something has changed with voiceover in
mavericks, does anyone know what the key stroke is now to select more
than one item? Previously, you would turn cursor tracking off, move the
voiceover cursor to each item and press vo command space. However, this
key stroke now displays a list of actions you can do with the item, the
only option in the voiceover help menu for selecting items is vo enter,
but this does not select more than one item at a time.

Re: Lewie Braille Translator for OS X

2013-12-27 Thread Mrs. Lynnette Annabel Smith
Hello Esther

This is my first time on the Internet for a millennia, so please do excuse me
for my tardy and probably outdated responses.

I did find this actually yesterday, and you’re quite correct it doesn’t seem to
be under active development. The good news, however, is that there’s another
translator which I found in the Mac App Store called Braille Writer Pro.
There’s also a version for iOS called Braille Pad Pro.

It’s not exactly what we’re looking for, but here’s a link to the developer’s
sight:

I will have to continue looking on Gordon’s behalf while he spends his time
concentrating on work issues.

Warm regards to all

Lynne

You may remember that Greg Kearney worked on it extensively when he was still
in the U.S. and working for the Wyoming Medical Center. Insofar as this did
not impact his computer support duties, his employers encouraged and supported
his efforts and interests in accessibility. I don't think he has the same sort

of Western Australia. Most of the web pages for projects that he was involved
with have been moved to the Curtin University site:
http://www.cucat.org/projects.php

The most recent document I've seen describing the use of this program is a post
by Keith Reedy on his macvoiceover list earlier this year. Here is the
archived post, dated from March 2013:
• [macvoiceover] Creating Braille on your Mac and Louis URL:

The current web URL for Louis is at the Curtin University web site:

For anything else, I think you'd have to get in contact with Greg directly.

Managing contacts

2013-12-27 Thread Chris Goodwin
Hi all, and hope you are all having a nice Christmas (if you celebrate it),

I want to improve how I manage contacts on my iPhone 4S ios7. I want to be
able to use my Windows XP computer to edit names, phone numbers and email
addresses of my contacts.

So I've plugged my phone into my computer, iTunes has started up and I've done
a backup of my phone.

Searching on the net, I understand I've got to use Windows Contacts, or my
Address Book, to do the editting of my contacts. But a couple of things:

1. I already have 600 email addresses in my address book and I don't want to
get these mixed up with my iPhone contacts.
2. I don't see how to view the contacts I've got onto my computer via the
backup with Address Book. And what is Windows Contacts anyway?

I'm sure this is a really common thing and I would imagine there are already
good instructions somewhere, so hoping someone can point me in the right
direction for detailed information.

Ho ho ho,

Chris

2013-12-27 Thread Sarah k Alawami
It's a bug in 10.9.0. It got resolved on my system anyway with 10.9.1. I really
don't know if this will help or not but there you go. My system is odd, but it
works and works well so far.

Funny Things Happening For No Rhyme Or Reason

2013-12-27 Thread Dane Trethowan
Exactly and such a thing has happened.

I use the shortcut of ctrl-f8 to move focus to the status bar.

for some reason the shortcut stopped working this morning.

I looked in the keyboard preference pane under system preferences under
Shortcuts to see whether or not this particular shortcut was disabled though
how it possibly could be I had no idea.

As it happens the checkbox next to the shortcut was checked so what the hell
was going on?

Time to restart the machine and thankfully - after the bootup process had
completed - the ctrl-f8 shortcut was working again as though nothing of any
import had ever happened, go figure .
