Re: Signing in to more than one app store

2014-05-30 Thread Esther
Hi Eleanor,

I think you need to search for "Universal Translator" by NibiruTech Limited in
order to find this app. This URL should work:
https://itunes.apple.com/app/universal-translator/id420857081?mt=12
The most fail-proof way to identify a specific app is to copy the link to its
URL. However, when you do this in the Mac App Store and it contains your
country code, someone looking for the same app in another country will not be
able to find that app. If you copy a link to an application on an iPhone or
IPad, someone who wants to locate that app in another country can use your
link, which will either bring up the correct app if it available in his
country's App Store, or return a message that the app is not available in that
Store.

So if I want to give a link to a Mac App Store app that works outside of my
country I have to examine the URL and delete the two letter country code and
following slash from the address.

The App Stores were designed to really only work for one country.

HTH.

2014-05-30 Thread Sarah k Alawami
Hmm. I can't help with that, but I think you have ti change the loction of your
app store. I don't think you will have access to the stuff you grabbed from the
other place, how ever I'm not sure as I don't normally change app store
locations to grab stuff. But it should be in the store menu in the MAS. If not
I can look but this should be enough to get you going.

Good luck.

Chris that is insufficient information for me as a beginner. I am really
pleased that you are on the list as I have had lots of help from you over
many lists but as a beginner more information such as that given by Sarah is
very helpful until I become more experienced.

Signing in to more than one app store

2014-05-30 Thread Eleanor Martha Burke

Hi Sarah
That was excellent. Now can you answer this one for me perhaps. I have
accounts in the Ireland and the UK app stores. I was looking for an app
Universal Translate which does not appear to be in the app store, at least
not a free version. Yet I am aware that 2 people in the UK downloaded the
free app today. Now last week I was in Ireland and I purchased an album in
the Ireland app store. Maybe this is why I got problems with the app store
when all the buttons were dimmed. Now I would just like to known about
signing out of one app store and in to the other app store.

Re: Moving DropBox

2014-05-30 Thread Sarah k Alawami
All you need to do is option click to show the menu. I think I neglected to
mension that as I sssumed that everyone knew about the change since 2 years
ago. If it kickes you out go back t the extras and try again. Then arrow down
to prefs and there you go.

Gake care.

Re: Fusion; OS X Grabbing Keyboard Control

2014-05-30 Thread Geoff Stephens
Make certain quick nav is off when you switch to the fusion window. I prefer to
leave VO on while using Fusion. I also do not find it necessary to use full
screen mode. I enjoy having use of Mac OS and Windows simultaneously without
disabling either screen reader.

Re: Fusion; OS X Grabbing Keyboard Control

2014-05-30 Thread Phil Halton
I always just press control+command+F to switch screen modes. then I hit the
tab key a few times if necessary and that gets focus back to the VM. Actually,
I think that control+command is actually a command to grab/rrelease focus, and
that’s why it works - don’t really know - it just works.

I've just installed the Universal Translator app, and so far it works very

RE: Fusion; OS X Grabbing Keyboard Control

2014-05-30 Thread David Griffith
Are you using it in full screen mode?

I find that it is only in full screen mode that Fusion works satisfactorily
for me. The toggle key for full screen in fusion is Control command and
enter.
Basically the steps I take are
1. command F5 to turn voiceover off.
2 Control command and enter to enter full screen mode and the windows
Screenreader should now grab focus.
3. To leave Windows and return to the Mac control command enter to put
Fusion into a window then command F5 to turn VO on and finally command tab
to another window or desktop to confirm that Vo and Mac have focus.

Hi all

I'm experiencing an irritating issue with Fusion. It is continually
grabbing keyboard control and I can't get back to my VM. Anybody tell me
how to get focus back to the VM via keyboard?

I don't want to discuss the VM here because it's off topic. But this seems
to be an issue with Fusion itself, not the VM.

Kindest regards

Re: language translation on mac osx

2014-05-30 Thread Michael Marshall
what i would love is for VO voices to switch between a language when
encountering a word, EG the german voice would kick in for german text in a
page as another screen reader that i know of does.

Fusion; OS X Grabbing Keyboard Control

2014-05-30 Thread Gordon Smith
Hi all

I’m experiencing an irritating issue with Fusion. It is continually grabbing
keyboard control and I can’t get back to my VM. Anybody tell me how to get
focus back to the VM via keyboard?

I don’t want to discuss the VM here because it’s off topic. But this seems to
be an issue with Fusion itself, not the VM.

Kindest regards

Re: Apple to live stream WWDC 2014 keynote on June 2; promises exciting announcements

2014-05-30 Thread Gordon Keen
Hi

Better yet my son is attending for his company and is primed to champion access
or I’ll want to know the reason why!

Currently he is trying to sleep off the jet lag and was going to bed at six a.m
our time ( ten p.m ) in San Francisco.

That makes three of us! I just happen to be off work on 2 June, so at around
16:00 BST, or is it 17:00 now that we’re in BST, I’m not sure. We’re ahead of
UTC by one hour at the moment, but I don’t know whether they have such a thing
as daylight saving time over there. ;-)

Incidentally, when I try to open any of Sarah’s URLs I’m getting a totally
blank page.

Re: Moving DropBox

2014-05-30 Thread Gordon Smith
I wish it were that simple. How, for instance, are you supposed to get into
the preferences? I can’t get it to open from the menu bar, nor does it work
when I run the application, but then again I didn’t expect that second option
to work right,.

So, I tried going into the Users & Groups preference pane and on the Logon
Items tab, I looked for DropBox but it was nowhere to be found. In a lame
attempt to prevent it from loading, I renamed the ap and restarted the machine.
Even that didn’t work right. But I can’t find a way of doing it.

Kindest regards
