I forgot to add restart mail and let it reimport the mail so it might rebuild
those files.

good luck.

go to settings/cell data and turn off all the programs you don't want using
data. I don't know how to get rid of that message though.

Shut down mail. Browse to ~/library/mail/v2 then open mail data. Now delete the
following 3 files.

Re: [Mac-access]: Repairing the mail database

2015-02-17 Thread David Griffith
There is a rebuild mailbox option right at the end of a long Mailbox
menu in Apple Mail, which you could try.

I am not sure though if this is what you are looking for as I have never
heard of a mail database.

[Mac-access]: annoying message on IOS regarding WIFI

2015-02-17 Thread Glenn / Lenny
Hi,
My son is using my old iPhone 5, and he turned of data, and is connecting
through our router, and he keeps getting this annoying message telling him
that he is not using data.
Duh!
He is the one who turned it off!
He has to click on okay all the time when it pops up, when he opens up the
browser.
Is there a way to tell IOS to not show that message any more?
Thanks.

Re: [Mac-access]: No sound from internal speaker on my 27 inch mac

2015-02-17 Thread David Griffith
I had the opposite problem last year when the headphone appeared to go
on my iMac but the speaker was OK.

In your situation I would put headphones in an look at Sound settings
under system preferences to make sure that speakers are enable.

Apart from this what I discovered was when I went into the Recovery
Console was that my headphone socket was actually working fine. In the
end I found that a re-install of MacOS from the Recovery sorted my problem.

So before taking any steps to sort out hardware I would run recovery
console to see if the speakers work in that. That would focus the
problem not on hardware but a an OS glitch.

[Mac-access]: Downloading channel 4 TV programs

2015-02-17 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
I am running Mac OS 10.10.2.
Has anyone found a way to download TV programs from Channel 4 in the UK to Mac
OS? The Internet advises installing an App MacVideoDownloader. I have done this
but cannot get the App to work under VoiceOver.
I normally use get iPlayer Automator to download TV programs from the BBC and
ITV but the option to downloade from Channel 4 (More4) is dimmed suggesting
that the get iPlayer Automator app does not yet support this feature.
Many thanks for any tips
