[Mac-access]: Searching for a TV program on Apple TV

2015-02-18 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
I have the latest version of Apple TV with the latest software.
I wanted to watch again a TV show on Channel 4 in the UK. I located Channel 4
on the Apple TV and selected it. I was then presented with a list of 253
possible TV shows, with hopefully the one I want somewhere in that list. Alas
the list did not seem to be sorted in any sensible order and it would be very
tedious to check out each of the 253 in turn.
Is there anything I can do to improve this situation? Can I enter a search
string or if not can I sort the list in the date order of when the TV show was
originally broadcast with the most recent show first.
I only have the Apple TV remote with its three buttons.
The documentation is not that great. I did buy a short guide to the Apple TV
from the ibook store but it relates to a rather old model.
Many thanks for any help….

In your situation I would put headphones in an look at Sound settings

Apart from this what I discovered was when I went into the Recovery
Console was that my headphone socket was actually working fine. In the
end I found that a re-install of MacOS from the Recovery sorted my
problem.

So before taking any steps to sort out hardware I would run recovery

problem not on hardware but a an OS glitch.

Honestly? How new to the Mac are you? I bet if you look in the edit menu you'll
find the right command. You might want to read through the getting started
manual that you can find in the voiceover help system by pressing vo and the
letter H. It answers a lot of these basic questions.

Re: [Mac-access]: Repairing the mail database

2015-02-18 Thread Sarah k Alawami
You do a cmd del on the files then clear your trash. If that fails, and I
mean the clearing of the trash go to that in your doc, copy the files to the
clip board then launch terminal then do an

rm -rf then paste in the files. Make sure they are in the .trash folder

Take care.

You can also unhide the library by default although I would not recommend it.
If you want to do this so you don't have to type ~/library in the cmd shift g
dialogue in the finder simply hit cmd j and uncheck hide library. They hide
it from people who might want to tinker like myself. Lol!

interact with the browser, and arrow down to Library. it will be dimmed,
but open it anyway, now you can drill down to Mail/V2/MailData. You’ll
find the envelope files in there.
